KCAC Open Calls
KCAC wants the artists to move forward with their ambitious and innovative ideas and works to support artists and arts understanding through its Exhibition Series. Artists may submit a proposal for a solo exhibition or answer an call to participate in a group exhibition.
KCAC organizes the exhibitions of a vast array of physical and digital art mediums produced by establish, mid-career and emerging artists from across the globe.
Now embarking on our 48th year, KCAC is proud to have fully executed over 1200 exhibitions showcasing local, national, and international visual artists within a diverse range of venues. With an annual call response in the thousands, KCAC provides distinct, professional exhibitions to accentuate, educate, and transform an environment while empowering and uplifting the arts community.

Midtown KC Now
Storefront Windows 3931 Main St.
Deadline: Rolling
Applications are open with a rolling deadline for consideration as a selected artist for the Midtown KC Now windows located at 3931 Main Street Kansas City, MO 64111.
Midtown KC Now will exhibit the artworks for approximately 6 months and will select 2 artists to be scheduled to exhibit yearly.
Artists submit through google forms and will be prompted to sign-in to a google account.

Selected artists would be asked to create artwork for two windows measuring 44” x 106” each. Selected artists must present a proposal for approval and are required to execute this project during mutual agreed upon hours on site at Midtown KC Now.
Artists must submit proposals with the understanding that any materials used to execute the artistic vision must be easily removable from the windows upon the conclusion of the exhibition and the Midtown KC Now window space is returned to the way that the artists found it. The artists will be responsible for installation and un-install*
*Selected artists will receive a budget for installation supplies up to $700.

Applications must be of original work created by the submitting artist.
Artists MUST submit the following items below:
Submit a digital rendering or drawing of proposed imagery to be applied to the windows
Artist’s Statement
C/V or Resume
Link to website or social media account(s)
Optional: pdfs of reviews, catalogs, show announcements, social media handles and/or videos.
Selected proposals will be scheduled between July 2023 – June 2024

KCAC shall receive a 40% commission on all sales. Prices submitted must include KCAC commission. The artist agrees to pay this commission on any sale of art that was exhibited at KCAC during the exhibition and for a period of one month following the end of exhibition.

Curation Services
Various Businesses in the metro KC area
Deadline: Rolling
KCAC works with area businesses to evaluate and develop a curatorial plan that fits their needs and space. Participating artists are able to exhibit artwork for an extended period and receive an honorarium. On View in KC is an ongoing program with opportunities open to emerging and mid-career artists year round. KCAC will work collaboratively to curate, install, and promote the selected artists and artworks.

Submitting artists will be placed into a pool that will be juried and selected artists will be contacted by KCAC Staff with next steps.

KCAC will create labels for all works and list them for sale under Shop. Artists will be notified if their work sales, and will have the option to replace work.
KCAC will take 40% commission on work sold from the exhibition. Price submitted must include KCAC commission and frame, if applicable.
