JANE BOOTH NEW PAINTINGS. Booth will show large abstract works on canvas. Her expressive paintings burst with color and energy, incorporating passages of an earthy, lyrical graffiti.  Booth has a B.A. from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.
BRIAN FIRKINS “Bartle” paintings began with the most geometrically expressive part of the built form of the Bartle Hall Convention Center in Kansas City, Missouri – the façade – and express a variety of “reactions” to the proportions and rhythm of the building. Firkins lives in Kansas City, MO.
JUNE ROYS: WITHIN 500 FEET: EXPLORATION PHOTOGRAPHY. Digital photography shot within a 500 foot radius exploring the notion that art is around us at any given moment and perception of our surroundings can be altered by our sensitivity to the visual elements in our immediate environment.  Lives in Joplin, Missouri.

THE RIVER MARKET REGIONAL EXHIBITION is Artists Coalition‘s annual regional juried competition. Open to artists in a six state region, the exhibition and catalog promotes artists nationally. Artwork to be selected by Dominic Molon is Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), Chicago, where he has curated the major thematic exhibition, “Sympathy for the Devil: Art and Rock and Roll Since 1967.”



September 5-26, 2008
MICHAEL KRUEGER PRINTS Krueger's work is characterized by an insistence on narrative and line. He uses traditional printmaking techniques such as lithography and intaglio, as well as various digital technologies, often combining several techniques in a single print. Krueger lives in Lawrence, KS.
GREG CRAWFORD INSTALLATION is comprised of recycled materials condensed into stacks and then coated with layers of paraffin. Crawford’s art is to be viewed with both photographs of these stacks surrounding the actual stacks themselves. Crawford lives in Kansas City, MO.

October 3 – November 14, 2008
STEVE MUMFORD WAR DIARIES documents the war and his day-to-day experiences with Iraqi’s, American soldiers and journalists. His awareness of the historical significance of the war led him to decide to go to Iraq and record these events as he saw them, with no moral or political context to sway the viewer. This exhibition will feature work from his journals. Mumford lives in New York City.
CLAIRE RAU BOOBY TRAPS reflect her interest in armed conflict. Her artworks are dysfunctional; a parody of hand-to-hand arms and barriers made from a range of materials like fabric, steel and wood. Textile patterns, lace and camouflage are of considerable influence. Rau lives in Colorado Springs, CO.



December 5 – January 16, 2009
BENJAMIN ENTNER INSTALLATION includes large-scale inflatable objects which are the result of play, experimentation and self-reflection. Entner lives in Syracuse, NY.
HEINRICH TOH INSTALLATION explores identity and cultural displacement that comes from relocation and travel. His current work uses prints as installation objects. Toh lives in Kansas City, MO.



March 6-27, 2009
SUSAN PALMISANO PAINTING represents her interest in women’s insecurities in their image. She creates representations of the feminine body tinted by layers of resin covering opulent paint underneath, veiling and encasing the images. Palmisano lives in Penn Run, PA.
JILL OLM DRAWING focuses on the activity of “mark-making” as it pertains to social, geographical and anthropological patterning. A formal sense of place and space are unfixed in her paintings, drawings and illustrations. The repetitive use of line indicates both occurrence as well as the artist’s self-discovery in the studio. Olm lives in Eau Claire, WI.
