Thank you to everyone who supported the 2009 ART AUCTION!
You made it a big success!
The Kansas City Artists Coalition has long been a known destination for
visual stimulation, as the primary presenter of new, innovative art works by
local and regional artists. Every February KCAC hosts its Annual Benefit Art
Auction with artwork donated by the region's best artists and auctioned to the
highest bidder.
The annual auction has become a "must attend" event. Collectors and
art enthusiasts don their party clothes a cheerful attitude in anticipation of
finding the perfect new piece of art while supporting the Artists Coalition. The
Silent Auction kicks off the evening and wets the appetite for the Live Auction.
Elegant appetizers are served and beverages are provided throughout the
evening, which concludes when all the artwork has been sold.
The Auction is a very
important fundraiser for the Artists Coalition. Business donations and
ticket
sales pay for the marketing and the party, so the dollars earned by
selling artwork goes toward KCAC exhibitions and programs. The funds
raised equal just about 25% of KCAC cash income. These funds are key to the
stability of the organization. Auction proceeds allow KCAC to match
government grants and show our foundation sponsors that KCAC’s constituency
is there with the goods when it counts.
The support of KCAC
and the art auction allows us to provide opportunities for artists to show
in the Artists Coalition’s galleries; it allows us to bring in artists from
around the country (and world!) to help exercise our minds so we don’t
become stagnant thinkers; and it helps us spread art amongst the masses
through our many projects, exhibitions, and Open Studios. This fundraiser provides the
means to fulfill our mission of promoting
contemporary visual artists' work. It takes place in the
Kansas City Artists
Coalition Galleries, 201 Wyandotte, KCMO. Successful bidders take their
newly purchased artwork with them that evening. MasterCard and Visa are
accepted.
